Edit 22:00 (GMT), 16th December: It appears that iOS/iPad 14.3 is required to be able to use Stadia on Safari. This article originally stated it was recommended to update, however Stadia displays a message saying the browser needs updating if the device is not running the latest update.
Christmas has come early for iOS users wishing for Stadia support. iPhone and iPad users can now access Stadia through Safari simply by accessing Stadia as you would on PC/Mac.
It comes after Apple’s App Store restrictions meant companies would have to register each game available on game streaming services such as Stadia and Luna. As a result, workarounds were introduced to try and replicate the experience on iOS, however the news from today takes away the need for such workarounds.
It is recommended that users update devices to iOS/iPadOS 14.3 to be able to take advantage of the new support. Currently, Google Assistant is not available through iOS, however the Stadia controller and any Bluetooth controller will work fine.
