For a number of months now, rumours have been swirling of a successor to the current Chromecast Ultra.
Well, that could very well see that changing in the near future as Google have filed not one but two FCC patents for devices as recently reported by 9to5Google earlier today.
The current iteration of the Chromecast and Chromecase Ultra rely on being driven by apps on your phone.
If the rumours are to believed, what we will see from Sabrina is something more a kin to Amazon’s Fire Stick devices, where they have their own UI with built in apps on a limited amount of storage space. Stadia would surely have to be the first app on the list for this new device to further people’s ability to easily gaming on the platform in your living room or man cave.
With the two patents filed, What we could very well be looking at is the media device that connects to your TV and the second, a remote control to give more control over that device versus control from your phone.
What surprises could Google have in store for us all? That we don’t know but it’s certainly intensifying that the Sabrina launch may not be that far away after all.
