Cloudy with a Chance of Games

The day the all Stadia Pro subscribers hang on for has arrived, it’s Pro Game announcement day! A selection of 6 in fact.

People have been eagerly awaiting the announcement over what Stadia had in store for us in the month of October. I think it’s safe to say there’s been a somewhat mixed response to the games that will be on offer for that $9.99 or £8.99 per month subscription fee.

Let’s have a look at what they have in store;

Dead By Daylight

Arguably the favourite of the 6 titles available this October and just in time for Halloween. It originally was scheduled for September release, however it’s clear that plan went out the window in favour of it being a pro game for the month of October. I highly suspect that this has something to do with ensuring that it launches with the much anticipated feature, Crowd Choice versus us seeing another title launch without one of it’s key features, like Super Bomberman R Online did in September.

Dead by Daylight on Stadia will also allow cross-play with all other platforms where Dead by Daylight is available.

Dead by Daylight launches with Crowd Choice, the new Stadia feature that lets you take control of the action as it unfolds live on YouTube, hosted by your favorite YouTube Creator. Team up with other viewers to vote and change the game as it’s happening. Select whether they play as the Killer or a Survivor in Dead by Daylight… then pick which Killer or Survivor they’ll become!

Super Hot: Mind Control Delete

Making it’s way to Stadia originally in August, the additional instalment of the much loved Super Hot franchise is now becoming free to claim.

The third instalment is much bigger than the previous titles and provides you with more ways to neutralise the enemies with a variety of weapons, environments and characters.

You move, they move, but there’s only one way out.

Lara Croft and The Temple of Osiris

I think this was a popular option that many in the community called as being a Pro title for October and they were correct.

In this adventure, treasure of the ancient world is not going to collect itself! The Tomb Raider and up to three friends unearth a subterranean temple together in this multiplayer action dungeon crawler.

Celeste

2018’s Award winning Celeste is one of the best platformers in years combines brilliant level design with a poignant, heart-wrenching story. Both the difficulty and the dialogue will likely make you cry. In a good way.

Jotun: Valhalla Edition

One that mentioned in our prediction stream last week, Jotun Valhalla Edition, brought to us by the extremely talented team over at Thunder Lotus games.

Ancient gods and arctic landscapes await the brave solo adventurer who dares confront Jotun, a challenging action adventure that pits a single brave hero against all the powers of Valhalla.

I think it’s easy to see why this month’s collection of games may not appeal to the masses but there will certainly be a number of titles for people to try that they may not have purchased. A mixed month in our opinion but can you really complain at 6 games for £8.99?

My first gaming experience was on a ZX spectrum, from there I've gone through every Nintendo system, Playstation , Xbox up until the last generation of the consoles and of course PC. I finally seen the light earlier in 2020 and made the move to Cloud Gaming and quite genuinely it was the best thing I've ever done. The future of gaming is here and with my deep passion for gaming I can't wait to experience where it's going.
