Cloudy with a Chance of Games

A trailer has just been posted for Chronos: Before The Ashes and it is listed as coming to Stadia! Thanks to Club Stadia for spotting this. Details seem to be a light for the game at the moment.

This is an action role-playing game in which players assume the role of a fighter trying to save a land from a great evil. From a third-person perspective, players can explore an ancient labyrinth while battling fantastical enemies (e.g., goblins, stone monsters, minotaur) in melee combat. Characters fight using swords, spears, and clubs. Combat is highlighted by impact sounds, light effects, and cries of pain. Enemies emit small splashes of blood when struck, and some levels depict pools of blood on the ground. The word “bastard” appears in game text.

I have been playing since the Commodore 64 days and have basically played every console going since then including the Ouya! I have been a fan of cloud gaming since the Onlive days and that was my favorite platform. Cloud gaming will revolutionize how we play games going forward and it is just a matter of time when it takes off.

  1. In my dentist’s waiting room, I just clicked a “play now” link on @Stadia and instantly I became Tommy Oliver. Paused game before I left, got home & instantly resumed game on my TV. How is this mystical dark gaming magic possible? I know Microsoft and sony would like to know.
