In a blog post today Google has announced that Android TV will be getting an Auto Low Latency mode. This should reduce lag when gaming on Android TV. This feature “Make gaming on the TV even smoother. Ask Android TV to disable post-processing, and minimize latency whenever a gaming application is shown fullscreen” according to the blog post. This will have an impact on Cloud gaming with Stadia in prime candidate ti take advantage of this.
This should also benefit xCloud (if/when it comes to Android TV) along with Geforce Now. With the Stadia app starting to show more functionality on Android TV this wil increase the speculation that the Stadia should be launch shortly launching on Android TV. This should allow more controllers to be used on Stadia via the TV and open up more possibilities.
